The Pirate and the Genie
Captain Rumble and his crew stumbled upon an ancient lamp buried in the sand. Rumble eagerly rubbed it, and a genie appeared in a puff of smoke.
The genie bowed. “You have three wishes. What shall they be?”
Rumble didn’t hesitate. “First, I want the biggest treasure hoard in the world!”
The genie waved his hand, and suddenly, the ship was overflowing with gold and jewels.
“For my second wish,” Rumble continued, “I want to be the most feared pirate on the seas!”
The genie nodded, and every sailor in the world suddenly trembled at the name Captain Rumble.
The genie then asked, “And your third wish?”
Rumble thought hard. “I want eternal life! I’ll be the pirate who never dies!”
The genie hesitated. “Are you sure about that, Captain?”
“Absolutely!”
With a snap of his fingers, the genie granted the wish and disappeared. Rumble laughed, feeling invincible. But as the years passed, he realized eternal life wasn’t all it was cracked up to be.
“Eternal life with no new adventures gets… boring,” he muttered to himself. Now, he spends his days telling endless sea tales to anyone who’ll listen.
