The Ice Cream Conundrum
One day, I asked my son, “What’s the best part about ice cream?”
He answered, “The cone, obviously!”
I shook my head, “No, no, no. The best part is the moment when you get the first scoop. That first scoop is a moment of pure joy.”
“Dad, I just told you it’s the cone,” he insisted.
“Well,” I said, “Then you’re clearly missing the point. The cone is just there to hold the joy. Without the joy, the cone is just… well, a crunchy cup!”
He paused for a moment, looked at me, and said, “But the cone doesn’t get soggy and melt all over your hand.”
I replied, “Ah, a true philosopher. Well played, son. You may have just solved the world’s greatest dilemma: ice cream, or an everlasting sticky situation?”
