The Squirrel and the Acorn
A squirrel, known for his hoarding habits, stumbles upon a giant acorn. He’s overjoyed and decides to hide it in his secret stash for the winter. But as he digs a hole, he realizes something—his stash is already full!
“I can’t fit one more acorn,” he says to himself, scratching his head. “But this one is too big to leave behind.”
So, he decides to bury it in a secret spot, far away from all the other acorns. As he buries it, he hears a voice from behind:
“You know, you could always share that acorn,” says a passing deer.
The squirrel looks up and says, “Why would I share? I’ve worked so hard to gather these acorns!”
The deer shrugs and says, “Sometimes the joy of sharing is worth more than the joy of keeping.”
The squirrel thinks for a moment, then smirks and says, “Well, I’m not sure about that, but I’ll tell you one thing: I’m going to have the best winter feast anyone’s ever seen!” And with that, the squirrel finishes burying his prized acorn, determined to enjoy it alone.
