The Overenthusiastic Shopper
A guy walks into a store to buy a simple pair of shoes. He approaches a sales associate and says, “I need something that screams ‘I’m fashionable, but I don’t try too hard.’” The sales associate, a little confused, asks, “What size do you wear?” The guy, still holding the shoes in his hand, responds, “Oh, I’ll try anything. I’m just here to make a statement. Like, ‘Look at me, I’m a trendsetter, but I don’t even care about being a trendsetter.’” The associate nods, trying to figure out what to say, but instead of offering advice, simply says, “I think we have some shoes over there.” The guy stares at the shoes for a while, wondering if he really just made a statement or if he just made things awkward for everyone in the store.
