The Farting Genius
A professor in a science class was teaching his students about gas exchange in the human body. To demonstrate, he turned to his student, Bob, and asked, “Bob, can you explain the chemical reaction that occurs when a person farts?”
Bob, who had been a bit nervous, hesitated before answering, “Well, Professor, it’s a process where air is expelled from the body, releasing methane, and causing a noise we like to call ‘a toot.’”
The professor looked at him and said, “Correct! And if it’s particularly loud, it’s what we call an explosive release of academic knowledge.”
