The Lost Bet
James and his younger brother, Billy, were always making ridiculous bets. One day, James said, “I bet you can’t go one whole day without eating anything sweet!”
Billy grinned and said, “Challenge accepted!”
The next day, Billy avoided all sweet treats, even though it was incredibly hard for him. By the end of the day, he was starving, but he was determined to win the bet.
James, who couldn’t resist, went to the kitchen and grabbed a cookie. Billy saw him and said, “You owe me! You’re the one who broke the bet!”
James shrugged, biting into the cookie. “What are you talking about? I didn’t eat anything sweet. I just bought it and admired how nice it looked.”
Billy stared at him. “That’s cheating!”
James smiled. “It’s all in the details, my younger brother. You didn’t specify that I couldn’t look at sweet things.”
