The Wisdom of Older Brothers
A younger brother comes to his older brother and says, “I need some advice. I’m having a tough time in life. Should I follow my dreams?”
The older brother looks at him, sighs, and replies, “You should absolutely follow your dreams. But also remember, in reality, dreams don’t pay bills, so get a job first!”
The younger brother laughs. “Is that your advice for everything?”
The older brother grins and says, “Of course. Get a job, work hard, and save some money. Then, you can afford to follow your dreams without living in your mom’s basement like me.”
The younger brother thinks about it for a second and says, “So you’re telling me to follow my dreams, but only after I’ve earned a paycheck and become an adult?”
“Exactly,” says the older brother, “And if you don’t want to work, then you’d better have a rich spouse. Either way, you’ll end up being just like me.”
