The Witch’s First Day at the New School
On Halloween night, a young witch named Wanda decided to transfer to a new school to learn more about her magical powers. She was excited but nervous as she entered her first class, which was “Wand and Potion 101.”
The teacher, a slightly overworked sorcerer named Mr. Broomstick, called the class to attention. “Alright, students, today we’re going to practice levitation spells. Wanda, why don’t you come up and demonstrate?”
Wanda, feeling a bit shy, stood up and walked to the front. She raised her wand and muttered the incantation, but instead of making the desk float, she made her own hair stand up on end.
The entire class laughed, and Wanda blushed, but Mr. Broomstick reassured her. “Don’t worry, Wanda. It happens to the best of us. Try again.”
This time, Wanda concentrated hard, and with a flick of her wrist, the desk began to rise—slowly at first, then zooming upward, crashing into the ceiling with a loud crash!
The class gasped, and Wanda quickly muttered the counter-spell to bring the desk back down.
Mr. Broomstick sighed and said, “Wanda, perhaps you’d be better suited for Potion Brewing 101. Levitation may not be your thing.”
Wanda grinned and said, “I’ll make a deal. You help me with levitation, and I’ll brew the best potion you’ve ever tasted.”
And so, Wanda became the best potion maker at the school, all while perfecting her levitation skills… eventually, without causing any more ceiling dents.
