The Pirate’s Parrot Dilemma
Captain Squawkbeard loved his parrot, Polly. But Polly had developed a bad habit: stealing shiny things from the crew.
One day, Squawkbeard’s first mate stormed into his cabin. “Captain! Polly’s stolen me gold tooth again!”
Squawkbeard groaned. “Polly, what have I told ye about stealing from the crew?”
The parrot squawked, “Finders keepers, losers weepers!”
Squawkbeard sighed. “Where is it, Polly?”
The parrot flew up to the crow’s nest and pointed at a pile of shiny treasures: rings, coins, and the missing gold tooth.
“I suppose I’ll need to hire a locksmith for ye next,” Squawkbeard muttered.
Despite the trouble, Polly’s treasure hoard became famous, and Squawkbeard proudly told anyone who’d listen, “Aye, my parrot’s got more treasure than most pirates I know!”
